Yvonne “Marie” (Brosius) Westerman, 85, of Richardsville, PA, passed away during the early morning hours of Thursday, March 2, 2023, while a resident at Clarion Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion, PA. She was born on January 7, 1938, to the late Ernest “Ernie” and Ethel (Ballentine) Brosius in Ohl, PA. She graduated from Brookville High School. Marie married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Westerman, on January 23, 1961, in Stanton, PA; Bob preceded her in passing on April 28, 2017. She was an incredibly hard worker and held positions at multiple local establishments, including her first job at a small store in Ohl, a shirt manufacturer in Reynoldsville, PA, Brookville Glove Factory, and the Gold Eagle Restaurant, also in Brookville. She was a longtime member of the Richardsville United Methodist Church as well as the Richardsville Ladie’s Aide, W.C.T.U., and the YMCA Silver Sneakers. Marie enjoyed quilting and loved reading romance novels, most of her books would work there way around the readers in the family. Regularly giving them common themes to discuss. Above all else, Marie loved people, she enjoyed socializing with her family and friends and will be dearly missed at future gatherings. Marie is survived by three children; Nancy (Mark) Strawcutter; Wesley Robert Westerman; Rose (Kenneth) Webster; two siblings; Sandra Hinderliter; Jessie Bouch; five grandchildren; Stanley Webster; Shawn Limrick; Tiffany Webster; Robert Westerman; Darren Westerman; and one great grandchild; Karlee Webster. In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in passing by one son; Harry Westerman; one brother; Jim Brosius; and two sisters; Betty Jenary; and Janie Yingling. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 1pm to 4pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation, beginning at 4:00pm also at the funeral home and officiated by Reverend Glenn McQuown. Interment will take place at Riggs Cemetery, Warsaw Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
