Richard Quay Shank Jr.

Richard “Snap” Quay Shank Jr., 62, of Punxsutawney, PA, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the Punxsutawney Hospital. He was born on April 16, 1960, to the late Richard Quay Shank Sr. and Beverly Joan (Spencer) Shank in Punxsutawney. Richard graduated from the Punxsutawney Area High School. He worked for Sam Jack Drilling on the rigs for many years. He also worked for the Indiana Gazette delivering newspapers. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed listening to music. He loved the time he spent with his youngest grandson, Theo, and the many videos and phone calls he got from him every day. Richard always talked about all the crazy and fun times he had enjoyed with his brother, Tim “Frog”. Richard will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Richard is survived by six children: Tonya Shank of Punxsutawney, PA, Richard Shank III of Sykesville, PA, Paul Shank of Rossiter, PA, Erica Shank of Glen Campbell, PA, Rebecca Shank of Rossiter, PA, and Caylia Shank; five siblings: Candy (Ken) Stitt of Indiana, PA, Tim Shank of Glen Campbell, PA, Jeff Shank of Glen Campbell, PA, Julie Shank of Glen Campbell, PA, and Tammy Mae (James) Shank-Holland of Trenton, IL. Richard is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Shawn Anderson, Korinne Anderson, Seth Anderson, Dominick Shank, Sylis Shank, Caden Shank, Eliona Shank, Brycen Shank, Esmeray Storm, Theodore McGregor, and Prudence McGregor; and one great – grandchild: Raelynn Anderson. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in passing by one sister: Bonnie Shank; and one nephew: Andrew Toy. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 1pm to 4pm at the Fait – d’Argy Funeral Home, 117 N. Jefferson St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
