Obituary

Richard Olen London, 78, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, while a patient at Penn Highlands DuBois, in DuBois, PA.  On March 30, 1944, Richard was born to the late Clair Olen and Florence (Holmes) London in Punxsutawney, PA.  He attended and graduated from the Punxsutawney Area High School with the Class of 1962. After high school he also attended the DuBois Business College. Richard was honorably discharged after six years with the United States Army Reserves. On November 16, 1964, Richard married the love of his life, Sandra Lee Fryer in Brookville, PA. He began his banking career at Brookville Bank and Trust. He retired in 2003 from S&T Bank as a Bank Branch Manager of the Route 36 office in Brookville. He was a member of the Brookville Lions Club. Richard was a simple man who loved birdwatching and spending time on his family farm in Oliveburg, PA. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Above all else, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and traveling with his wife Sandy. In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by three children, Jill (Christopher) Rhoades, Jennifer (Robert) Palmer, and Jason (Heather) London all of Brookville, PA; one sister; Margaret Kiehl of Brookville, PA; two brothers; David (Sharon) London of Harrisville, PA and Darwin (Linda) London of DuBois, PA; and one brother-in-law; Norman Dinger of Tennessee. Richard is also survived by four grandchildren; Jada (Nathan) McLaughlin, Chase Palmer, Chloe London, and Caleb London, all of Brookville, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in passing by two sisters; Erma Dinger and Winona Hetrick. All services will be held privately to the family and have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. Interment will take place at St. John's (Windy Hill) Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Brookville Evangelical United Methodist Church, 30 S.
