Pamela "Pam" Basinger Obituary

Pamela “Pam” Jean Basinger, 64, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022, while a patient at UPMC Presbyterian. Pam was born on September 30, 1957, to the late James and Bernice (Wray) Bierly in DuBois, PA. Pam graduated from Jeff Tech and then went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from the DuBois Business College; she was a Paralegal for nearly 35 years. Pam was in fact the first Paralegal in the state of Pennsylvania to be certified and received an honor within her profession. She married Gary Basinger on February 14; Gary survives her. Pam was a past long time member of the First Baptist Church of Reynoldsville, a previous member of the Rathmel Baptist Church, and current member of the Methodist Church of Reynoldsville. Pam loved to attend Bible studies, painting, and walking her dog, Abby. She enjoyed cooking for others and sharing time with her friends and family. Her favorite past time was getting to spend time with her grandchildren; she was the best Grammy they could have. She helped everyone and always said even if she wasn’t having a good day, she felt better by helping others. She cared deeply about her work and supporting clients. Pam and her husband devoted time volunteering within the community and church to support various children’s programs and as foster parents. Her legacy will be remembered by how she first and foremost always put her family first. She would sacrifice anything for her family’s happiness and wellbeing. She was a loving wife and best friends with her loving husband Gary, where they would spend many hours just laughing and joking together. She loved her sisters endlessly and enjoyed spending time with them laughing and joking together. She was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great – grandchildren. Pam was a loving mother to her daughters and loving grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She had a great sense of humor.  She was a devout Christian.  Although she will be deeply missed by her family, especially her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren we are comforted to know she is with our Heavenly Father.  Her daughters have been blessed with her as a mother here on Earth and are so happy that Carrie Ann now has precious time with her mom in Heaven. In addition to her husband, Pam is survived by two daughters; Christi Tapper and Lindsey (Adrian) Lopez; two sisters; Cynthia (Robert) Crosby and Carole (Richard) Henshaw. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Paul Butler, Mesa Butler, Mariah Butler, Adriela Lopez; and three great – grandchildren; Paul Butler Jr., Madelynn Tapper, and Lila Butler. In addition to her parents, Pam is preceded in passing by her sister; Sheila Jenkins; daughter; Carrie Ann Tapper; and her granddaughter; Melena Butler. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 11am to 1pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will also be held on Thursday, at the First United Baptist Church, 516 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851, beginning at 2pm and officiated by Pastor Robin Fernandez and Pastor Kenneth Eddy.
