Marian Horton-Lettie Obituary

Marian Louise (Chitester) Horton-Lettie, 95, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, while a resident at Laurelbrooke Landing in Brookville. Marian was born to the late R. Stanley and Mattie (Swineford) Chitester on November 28, 1925, in Brookville. She graduated from Brookville Area High School. Marian married Robert David Horton in 1945 in Brookville, PA; he preceded her in passing on October 5, 1976. Marian married James Lettie in 1985 also in Brookville; preceded her in passing. Marian was an incredibly social person who always loved company and conversation. She loved bringing joy to others and had a great sense of humor. Marian was a very spiritual person with a strong faith in God. She loved music and was a very talented singer and pianist. Marian was an avid word search player. Above all else, she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and she loved to stay connected to her family’s lives, no matter how far, through social media. Marian is survived by two sons; Larry (Jude) Horton of Fort Wayne, IN and Robert (Susan) Horton of Powell, OH; one sister; Dorothy (Bernard) Drayer; five grandchildren; Chris (Tracy) Horton of Portland, OR, Joshua (Jocelyn) Horton of Silverdale, WA; Evan (Roxanne) of Boston, MA, Alyse Horton of Libertyville, IL, Cameron Horton of Powell, OH; six great-grandchildren; Jonah and Phoebe Horton of Silverdale, WA; Audrey and Quinn Horton of Boston, MA; Grant Knuth of Libertyville, IL and Alexis Horton of CO . In addition to her parents and husbands, Marian is preceded in death by her two brothers; Ronald and Eugene Chitester. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 4pm to 8pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 18, 2021, also at the funeral home beginning at 11am and officiated by Pastor J. Ray Baker.
