Lester Jay Coon

Lester Jay Coon, 58, of Roseville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, from complications of COVID while a patient at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Lester was born on December 16, 1963, to the late John Everett and Betty Jane (Yoder) Coon in Brookville, PA. He attended Brookville Area High School and graduated from Jeff Tech’s autobody program. Lester worked for Canoe Livery in Cook Forest. He was currently employed as a truck driver with Zachrich Trucking. He previously attended St. Dominic’s Church in Sigel, PA. Lester enjoyed gambling and going to the casinos. He was a very sociable person; he was never shy to talk with people he did not know. Above all else, Lester enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Lester is survived by two sons; Andrew C. (Morgan Larson) Elder and Shane D. (Elizabeth) Coon; two sisters; Mary Slaughenhaupt and Brenda Buzard; two brothers; Frank Coon and Robert Coon; and five grandchildren. Lester is preceded in passing by his parents. Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 7, 2022, from 10am to 12pm at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place immediately following the viewing, beginning at 12pm and officiated by Pastor Terry Felt.
