Kenneth E. Hetrick

Kenneth Eugene Hetrick, 83, of Brookville, PA, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2021, while a patient at Penn Highlands Dubois. Ken was born on November 23, 1938, to the late Arnan Lee and Elsie Magadlee (Eshbaugh) Hetrick in Mayport, PA. He attended Conifer school in Ohl and then went to Brookville High School. He married Shirley Carberry on February 7, 1964, in Brookville, PA; she survives him. Kenny worked in the 1950’s for Reitz and Evans Drilling Wells. He then went to LA Leather’s dealership in 1956 and in 1960 Enlisted in the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge in 1963 and went to National Fuel Gas Co. in St. Mary’s, PA for thirty-two and half years retiring early in 1996. Ken was Lutheran by faith. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over fifty years, the George E. Wagner Lodge in St. Mary’s, and a 32-degree Mason in Coudersport. Ken also known as Kenny or Boy was always active in projects including raising potatoes, selling firewood, and restoring tractors, particularly 8N and 9N tractors. In his younger years he was a hunter and enjoyed salmon fishing. In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by two children; Denise (Danny) Hornung of Hazen; Douglas (Brandy) Hetrick of Kersey; two brothers; Thomas (Phyllis) Hetrick of Erie; Samuel (Janet) Hetrick of Knoxdale; one sister; Dorothy Sprangler of Brookville; one sister-in-law; Claire Hetrick of Pulaski; and five grandchildren; Lauren Hornung; Stephanie Hornung; Hunter Hetrick; Madisyn Hetrick; and Emma Hetrick. In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in passing by one son; Daniel Hetrick; three brothers; James Hetrick; Joe Hetrick; Robert Hetrick; one sister; Esther Hetrick; and one grandson; Eric Michael Hornung. Friends and family will be received from 3 – 5pm, on Saturday, November 27, 2021, the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation beginning at 5pm. Military honors will be rendered by the Brookville Area Honor Guard.
