Kathleen "Kitty" Jane Motter

Kathleen “Kitty” Jane (McCool) Motter, 58, of Sigel, PA, gained her angel wings on Sunday, March 27, 2022, with her loving family surrounding her. Kitty was a loving mother of three, an amazing “Mema” to six grandchildren and a loving wife of 36 years to Dale Motter. Kitty is the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Margaret “Maggie” L. (Whiteman) McCool; her mother survives her. She was born on January 5, 1964, in Brookville; Kitty was Joe and Maggie’s first born. Kitty met her husband Dale in 1983 through a mutual friend. They wedded on July 27, 1985, in Sigel. Kitty graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from DuBois Business College. She worked at Berry Plastics as a machine operator, for Brookville Area School District at Hickory Grove as a child aid, and for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier. She was a member of the Sigel Civic Center. Kitty was always smiling and trying to light up the room. She loved springtime the most. Kitty would spend hours attending to her flower gardens and baskets making sure they were perfect. She also enjoyed watching her hummingbirds that returned every year. Her favorite thing of all was being Mema to her grandbabies. Nothing made her prouder then being their Mema. She also enjoyed puzzling and cross stitching. Kitty was a very strong, selfless, wonderful, loving, and fun person. She was a fighter to the very end. In addition to her mother and husband, Kitty is survived by her three children; Joseph Motter, Amanda M. (Craig) Snell, Ashley D. (Christopher) Allshouse; two sisters; Jeanine Burkett, Marlene Lenhart; six grandchildren; Hunter Motter, Hayden Motter, Sadie Motter, Avery Motter, Easton Snell, and Bowan Allshouse. In addition to her father, Kitty is preceded in passing by one brother; Douglas S. McCool; and one nephew; Cody D. Burkett. All services will be held privately to the family and have been entrusted to the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA 15825. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to 365 Hospice, 119 S Main St., Carrolltown, PA 15722, or to Guardian Angel Ambulance Service, 700 Lebanon Rd., West Mifflin, PA 15122.
