Joseph "Joey Dee" S. Deangelo

Joseph “Joey Dee” S. Deangelo, 98, of New Castle, PA, formerly of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away during the evening hours of Wednesday, July 21, 2021, while a resident at The Grove at New Castle. He was born on August 13, 1922, to the late Santino and Sarafina (Giangiulio) Deangelo in Reynoldsville. Joe graduated from high school and attended The Julliard School. He honorably served his country with the United States Army. He was a self-employed musician and piano tuner. Joe was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Reynoldsville. His favorite thing to do with his musical talent was to play at the church’s Thanksgiving fundraiser turkey dinners. Joe really enjoyed the church and Father, and was always happy to lend a helping hand wherever he was needed. Joe is survived by one nephew; Delbert Darr; and numerous nephews, great nephews, nieces, and great nieces. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in passing by three sisters; Mary Deangelo Guida; Frances Deangelo Deremo; Viola Deangelo Darr; one young sister; Anna; three brothers; James Deangelo; Otto Deangelo; Nick Deangelo; and two young brothers, who died during the Spanish Influenza pandemic. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, July 26, 2021, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 607 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851, beginning at 10:00am and officiated by Father William Barron. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Reynoldsville, Jefferson Co., PA.
