James L. Crawford Sr.

James “Jim” Lee Crawford Sr., 84, of Beechwoods, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, while a resident at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor. Jim was born on March 4, 1938, to the late Samuel L. and Pearl E. (Bussard) Crawford in Reynoldsville, PA. He graduated from the DuBois Area High School with the Class of 1956. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Korea shortly after the conflict ended and served active duty during the Vietnam War. On August 5, 1989, Jim married Mary Louise Shaffer; Mary preceded him in passing on April 14, 2013. Jim was a member of the Beechwoods Presbyterian Church, American Legion #17, Fraternal Order of Eagles #965, and the Olympic Club or “The Big O”. James is survived by one son; James L. Jr., (Lori) Crawford; one brother; David B. (Sally) Crawford; three sisters; M. Shirley Sprague, Sandra J. Hetrick, Lois (Fred) Norton; two grandchildren; Danielle (Neill) Allen, Cody (Sierra) Gates; and one great grandson, Aiden Allen. Jim is preceded in passing by his parents, wife, and one brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Sprague. Services will be held privately to the family and have been entrusted to the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville PA, 15851.
