Emerson A. Turnbull

Emerson A. Turnbull, 64, of Brookville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, while a patient at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital in DuBois, PA. Emerson was born on October 3, 1957, to the late Emerson Richard and Nellie Anne (Lennex) Turnbull in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Carrick High School with the Class of 1975. After high school, Emerson attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and graduated from California State University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree. Emerson married Cynthia “Cindy” Faidley on August 9, 1980, in New Castle, PA; Cindy survives him. He worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Brookville Hospital for 30 years and as a jail nurse at the Jefferson County Jail for 20 years. He also worked as a past health inspector and code enforcement officer in Brookville, Brockway, and Snyder Twp. Emerson was a member of the Hobah Lodge #276 and was a 32nd-degree Mason. He was on the board for Brookville Area Little League and the Brookville Nursery School Board. He was also a Cub and Scout Master of Troop 64. He enjoyed volunteering at the Moonlite Drive-In, he was known as an Anesthetist by day and the Cotton Candy King by night. Emerson loved hunting, fishing, and singing. He enjoyed traveling to the Outer Banks and spending time at the dog park. In addition to his wife, Emerson is survived by four children; Paul (Jamie) Turnbull, Katie (William C.) Jordan, Charles Turnbull, Andrew (fiancé Brittaney) Turnbull; brother; David Turnbull; sister; Dianne Joseph; four grandchildren; Cadence Elizabeth Turnbull, Emerson Angelina Turnbull, Allison Ann Jordan, Elizabeth Nicole Jordan; and his beloved dog; Stella. Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 4 to 8pm, at the McKinney - d'Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A Masonic service will take place immediately following the viewing beginning at 8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Rd., Falls Creek, PA 15840.
