Dennis "Denny" Wayne Mohney

Dennis “Denny” Wayne Mohney, 62, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away on January 3, 2022, while a patient at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. He was born on August 17, 1959, to the late Eugene Mohney and Netta (Foltz) Mottern in Brookville, PA. Denny graduated from Jeff Tech with a certification in drafting and design. Denny married the love of his life, Rita M. Sipes on November 28, 1992, in Anita, PA; Rita survives him. He held many jobs throughout his career and considered his custodial work for the DuBois Central Catholic School for six years his favorite. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid sportsman including both hunting and fishing. Denny was a conversationalist and never found a person who he couldn’t talk to. He loved people and took an interest in anyone who crossed his path. Denny loved to travel and explore and had a specific love for his time spent in Alaska.  Above all else, Denny loved his family, and will be dearly missed. In addition to his wife, Denny is survived by Denita (Anthony Flythe) Mohney; John Moore; one brother; Ed Mohney; one sister; Sandy Ellis; one sister in law; Patty (Jim) Milligan; one brother in law; Bill (Diane) Startzell; his mother in law; Arleen Startzell; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and one great great nephew. Denny is also survived by his “grandpups”; Bella and Ralph. Denny was preceded in passing by his parents; Eugene Mohney; Netta Mottern; Gary Mottern; his father in law; Bill Startzell; one sister in law; Carol Mohney; one brother in law; Ken Ellis; and Andrew Moore. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 3pm to 8pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at St. Mary’s Church, 607 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851, beginning at 10:00am and officiated by Father William Barron. Interment will take place at the Adrian-Anita Roman Catholic Cemetery, Anita, Jefferson Co., PA.
