Charles "Charlie" Howard Raymond McGranor Sr.

Charles “Charlie” Howard Raymond McGranor Sr., 75, of Brookville, PA, passed away surrounded by family, during the evening hours of Monday, January 3, 2022, at his home. He was born on June 29, 1946, to the late John Andrew and Martha Gertrude (Fuller) McGranor in Brookville. He graduated from Strong Vincent High School in Erie PA, with the class of 1965. Charlie married Germaine “Jerry” Elliott on August 19, 1967, in Erie, PA; Jerry survives him. He worked for Perry Plastics in Erie for thirteen years and for Triangle Auto Springs in DuBois, PA, for twenty-seven years. Charlie was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Reynoldsville, PA. He loved the outdoors and participated in hunting, fishing, and trapping. Charlie enjoyed working with his hands, he enjoyed carpentry and could fix anything. Dad was the man to see if any of his children had a problem with anything. Charlie loved his community and would walk down the road to visit with any neighbor he saw. During the winter months he enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors by using his Kubota to plow heavy snowfall. Charlie was a warm and kindhearted man who will be dearly missed by his family and community. In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by his seven children; Charles Jr. (Sherri); Bob (Lucy); Tim (Missy); Brian (Denise); Jen; Karen; Kelly (Adam); thirteen grandchildren; Alex; Nicki; Bobby; Alyssa; Brandon; Brenna; Jordan; Ben; Michaela; Jasonna; Logan; Bella; Tyler; four great grandchildren; Carter; Cooper; Waylen; Aria; and one brother; James Frederick McGranor. In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in passing by one sister; Betty; nine brothers; Robert; Paul; Russ; Ken; Johnny; Glenn; Roy; Harry; and Tom. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 5pm to 8pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851. Per Charlie and his family’s request, visitors to the viewing are asked to follow casual dress code. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 7, 2022, at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 607 E. Main Street, Reynoldsville, PA 15851, beginning at 10:00am and officiated by Father William Barron. Final interment will take place at Moore Cemetery, Emerickville, Jefferson Co., PA.
