Burton Eugene Heise, 78, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away during the evening hours of Thursday, August 19, 2021, while a patient at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. He was born on December 1, 1942, to the late Harold Burton and Norabel May (O’Donnell) Heise in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Reynoldsville High School with the class of 1961. He went on to attend Clarion College where he received his Bachelor’s in Education in 1968, and then his Masters of Elementary Education in 1974. He taught for over thirty years as an elementary teacher within the DuBois Area School District and retired in 1998. He was a lifelong member of the Reynoldsville First United Methodist Church. While at the church he taught a men’s Bible class for many years and was a part of the men’s prayer breakfast. Burton was always happy to expand his knowledge both spiritually and academically. He loved to read and study history as well as the Bible as often as he could. He was also a sports fan and was a fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State and also enjoyed bowling. Burton is survived by two brothers; Robert Charles Heise; Harold Allen (Elissa) Heise; two nieces; Linda (Hernan) Brizuela; Sharilynn (Andrew) Sobities; and one nephew; Michael Heise. In addition to his parents, Burton was preceded in passing by one sister in law; Yong Cha Heise. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11am and officiated by Pastor Becky Edwards.
