Betty Jane (Mohney) Snyder

Betty Jane (Mohney) Snyder, 99, of Reynoldsville, PA, passed away during the evening hours of August 18, 2021, while a patient at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. She was born to the late Walter M. Sr., and Blanche (Shobert) Mohney on February 25, 1922, in Reynoldsville. She graduated from Reynoldsville High School with the class of 1939. Betty married James Darwin Snyder Sr., on March 24, 1943; James preceded her in passing on March 31, 2000, after fifty-seven years of marriage. Betty had a strong faith and enjoyed hosting Bible and prayer group in her home for over ten years. She worked for Brockway Glass for twenty five years until her retirement in 1977. Betty’s passion was being a mother and wife. She was an exemplary housekeeper and enjoyed things like cooking, baking, canning, and the overall care of her family. Betty is survived by four children; James D. Jr., (Connie) Snyder; Kenneth E. (Arlene) Snyder; Gary A. (Lynn) Snyder; Barbara (Michael) Varner; one sister; Shirley Campanini; nine grandchildren; Matthew (Melanie) Snyder; Jennifer (William) Garthwaite; Steve (Janice) Moore; Greg (Lori) Moore; Scott (Melissa) Snyder; Amy Clinger; Keri (William) Cuba; Beth (Patrick) Dennison; Patrick (Jessica) Snyder; seventeen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in passing by five siblings; Dorothy Borden; Melvin K. Mohney; James A. Mohney; Walter M. Mohney Jr.; Max A. Mohney; and one grandchild; Marci Faith Snyder. Services will be held privately to the family with Pastor Dave Nagele officiating. Services have been entrusted to the Snyder – d’Argy Funeral Home, 206 E. Main St., Reynoldsville, PA 15851. Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
